USCF-Rated Chess Classes

***A Scholastic Chess Class with Officially-Rated Competition Games***

When: WEDNESDAYS May 31- June 28 (5 weeks)

Where: Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (1610 Powers Run Rd., Pittsburgh PA 15238)

FORMAT:

  • Instructive chess lesson taught by Chess Master Gabriel Petesch

  • One Officially-Rated Competition Game per week

  • Post-Game Analysis to learn from competition games

  • Prizes for top finishers at the end of the session

TWO CLASS OPTIONS:

  • CLASS A: 6-7pm. (for students rated 100-599)

  • CLASS B: 7:15-8:30pm. (for students rated 600+)

These classes will provide extra training for students who are competing in Tournaments

Boards, pieces, clocks, and scoresheets will be provided. All students are required to take notation (click here to see a video on taking notation) during competition games.
